Assistant Teacher

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency required
• Highly-qualified credentials, preferred
• Possesses experience working with children
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to providing every student a supportive and structured learning environment, based around high expectations for student learning and growth
• Demonstrated ability to accept supervision and to follow through with directives
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Satisfactory health status
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Job Goal:
To promote the achievement of students' educational goals and learning objectives by providing supplemental and clerical services to assist the classroom teacher; assists in the supervision of classroom activities under the direction and supervision of the certified classroom teacher or other designated certified personnel.

Salary:
Commensurate with applicable experience. Starting salary no experience listed below.

Highly Qualified -- $18.88 per hour / 185 days per year

Not Highly Qualified -- $17.31 per hour / 185 days per year

To be considered Highly Qualified you need to possess 48 or more college credits OR have passed the Paraprofessional Exam.
