Role Description

This full-time, on-site Physics Teacher role is based at Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, NJ. The Physics Teacher will plan and deliver engaging physics lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating demonstrations, labs, and technology to support learning. Responsibilities include assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance. The role involves differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, collaborating with colleagues and families, and participating in departmental and school-wide initiatives.

The teacher will also contribute to a safe, inclusive classroom environment and may support extracurricular activities related to science and STEM.

Qualifications
  • Strong subject‑matter expertise in Physics and Physics Education.
  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and curriculum development for high school learners.
  • Solid foundation in Mathematics as applied to physics concepts and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated teaching skills, including classroom management and student engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Valid or eligible New Jersey teaching certification in Physics or a related science area.
  • Ability to use educational technology and lab equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful learning environment for all students.
