Adjunct Instructor - Jewelry

Overview

Brookdale Community College seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Jewelry 1 for the Fall 2025 semester. This course introduces students to fundamental jewelry fabrication techniques and design principles.

Responsibilities

* Prepare and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and studio instruction in jewelry making.

* Develop a course syllabus addendum aligned with department standards, including objectives, outcomes, and grading criteria.

* Cover metal fabrication techniques, such as sawing, filing, soldering, texturing, and forming.

* Introduce the safe use of jewelry studio tools and equipment.

* Hold office hours to support students outside of class.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* MFA degree with a concentration in metalsmithing or jewelry or demonstrated professional craft experience combined with prior experience teaching at the college level.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

* Commitment to teaching excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Prior teaching experience at the community college level.

* Experience with diverse student populations.

* Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend courses may be available in Lincroft, Western Monmouth and Higher Education Centers.

Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
