Middle School Cheer Coach

The North Plainfield School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and experienced leader to serve as the Middle School Cheer Coach at North Plainfield Middle School. North Plainfield is a diverse and vibrant community committed to developing the whole child through academics, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities. Our athletic programs emphasize excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and character development. We are seeking a coach who is passionate about building a comprehensive cheer program that supports student-athletes both on and off the court.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Required:

Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate or New Jersey Substitute Certificate. Current certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid (or obtain prior to the season). Demonstrated knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals, sideline cheer, game-day responsibilities, safety standards, stunting progressions, and choreography. Ability to organize practices, supervise students, and maintain a safe learning environment. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, school administration, athletic administration, and the high school coaching staff.

Foster an academic-based athletic culture by encouraging academic excellence, accountability, and positive citizenship while supporting student-athletes in achieving success both in the classroom and in cheerleading. Knowledge of NJSIAA, school district, and Board of Education policies governing athletics and extracurricular activities. Successful completion of all district employment requirements. Successful completion of all required NJSIAA coaching education requirement Preferred:
