Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with the approved curriculum on a daily basis. Develop lesson plans that support student learning outcomes and workforce readiness. Organize and maintain instructional materials, tools, equipment, and supply inventories. Monitor and evaluate student progress, including grading and attendance tracking. Provide timely, accurate, and constructive feedback on student performance, behavior and participations. Maintain current knowledge of applicable industry standards, laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, and integrate this knowledge into daily instruction.
Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student behavior and instructional progress. Model professionalism, reliability, and respect to contribute to a positive school culture.
5 years of experience in the field. Prior teaching experience preferred. Proficient written communication skills including the ability to prepare reports, complete student evaluations and document student progress. Strong verbal communication skills for classroom instruction and student engagement. High School Diploma or GED. Current knowledge of animal care practices, veterinary safety procedures, and applicable industry standards is required. Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or a related field is preferred.
Veterinary Assistant certification through NAVTA (National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America), Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA), Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), or comparable industry-recognized credential is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires mobility throughout the campus. Dexterity in working with computers is mandatory. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while teaching in a classroom and lab settings. Ability to lift, carry, and move program related equipment or training materials up to 50lbs. Sufficient manual dexterity to handle animals safely, demonstrate veterinary procedures, operate laboratory equipment, and utilize animal care tools.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and assist with animal handling, restraint, examination procedures, and laboratory demonstrations.
Published Salary Range - $35 per hour
