District Long-term Substitute Rate:
Per Diem $220.00. With an additional $25.00 per day after the first 20 days.

Benefits:
Interim Position. Part-Time Staff are not eligible for Medical, Prescription, Dental, and Vision Benefits. Sick, Personal and Bereavement Days are included.

Job Description

Title:

School Counselor

Qualifications:

Holds or is eligible for a valid New Jersey Educational Services Certificate with School Counselor endorsement or a similar School Counselor Certificate.

A Master's degree in School Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university.

A minimum of 3 successful years in School Counseling and/or Teaching is preferred.

Must exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.

Reports To:

Supervisor of Clinical Support Services - Building Principal.

Job Goal:
To support the academic, socio-emotional, and behavioral development of all students by providing a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes student success and well-being.

Performance Responsibilities:

Provide classroom, individual, and small group counseling lessons that address student academic, personal, and socio-emotional needs.

Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with state and national standards.

Appraise and assist students in developing academic, personal, and socio-emotional goals consistent with their identified values and belief systems.

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student academic and socio-emotional development and success.

Facilitate conflict resolution, peer mediation, and crisis interventions as needed.

Participate in the development and implementation of MTSS, Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS), Section 504 plans, HIB management, and Threat Assessment procedures.

Compensation:
Long-term Substitute Per Diem $220.00 +$25.00 additional after the first 20 days.

There is no vacation time allotted to this position.

Evaluation:
Performance of the job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
