DESCRIPTIONSchool Psychologist
POSITION SUMMARY:Provide daily support for students in accordance with Board approved processes and curriculum.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Demonstrate his/ her knowledge of school psychology
- Demonstrate appropriate planning of the instructional program which serves to help assigned students achieve district outcome and process goals, and program/ course objectives both individually and collectively.
- Know and use appropriate procedures in diagnosis, intervention, consultation, evaluation and program design for individual students.
- Elevate individual students, analyze, formulate, and implement social/ emotional objectives., The psychologist shall include in his/ her examination an observation of the pupil, an interview with the teacher or other school personnel and an assessment of the intellectual, social, adaptive and emotional development of the pupil.
- Demonstrate skills in interpersonal relationships with students, administration and staff, and with parents and community groups. The psychologists focus should include, but not be limited to, the social and emotional aspects of the educational program
- Appropriate New Jersey Certification required
- Masters degree in school and/ or clinical psychology, plus completed internship/externship in school psychology.
- Proficient in the use of instructional technology
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
- Successful Criminal History Clearance
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.
- Bilingual/Multilingual
10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
COMPENSATIONIn accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position is Step 1 BA/BS + 45/ MA ($70,523) - Step 18 PhD/EdD ($99,380). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.

ANNUAL EVALUATION:Performance is reviewed annually in accordance with NJ State law
and the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluations for certificated staff.

Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited Google Suite, IEP software program and Genesis Employee Portal and Student Information System.
