Major duties and responsibilities include employing knowledge of child development or adolescent psychology to motivate students, planning a program of study based on state standards, maintaining a classroom environment that encourages learning, guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, assessing student accomplishments, seeking assistance from district specialists when needed, conferring with colleagues, students, and families, developing reasonable classroom expectations and procedures, assisting in curriculum development, supervising behavior in hallways, lunchroom, and on school grounds, attending staff meetings, and remaining abreast of current developments in the subject matter.
Applicants must possess New Jersey Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-6 (1001) or other applicable NJ Certification and proof of New Jersey residency.
