The YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic STEM Instructor to lead engaging, hands‑on STEM enrichment classes for children ages 6–12. In this role, you will teach coding and 3D design courses, foster creativity and problem‑solving skills, and create a positive learning environment where students can build confidence and develop a passion for technology.
Responsibilities- Lead beginner, intermediate, and advanced coding and 3D design classes.
- Deliver project‑based STEM lessons that are fun, engaging, and age‑appropriate.
- Support student learning through classroom management, encouragement, and individualized instruction.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom technology.
- Track attendance and student progress.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment.
- Follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and child protection guidelines.

- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience working with children ages 6–12.
- Knowledge of basic coding concepts and educational coding platforms.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Willingness to learn 3D modeling/design software.
- Ability to pass a background screening.
- Coursework or degree in Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
- Experience teaching coding, robotics, digital design, or STEM programs.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and actively participate in youth program activities.
