Raritan Valley Community College's Humanities, Social Science, Social Work & Education Department is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members who are committed to providing the best quality education possible to our students. Specifically, the college is seeking candidates interested in being adjunct faculty with expertise in:

• Anthropology 102:
  Human Origins

  Evolutionary theory is the backbone of the natural sciences. In this course, we seek to understand what it means to be  human  through the lens of biological anthropology. We will explore the biological evolution and behavioral evolution of modern humans. This course is driven by questions involving what it means to be human, how we have defined  humanhood , and how human/non-human divides manifest within our society.
  
  We will cover a broad range of topics spanning almost 7 million years of history starting with the first bipedal steps taken by our hominin ancestors and ending with the Neolithic revolution.

RVCC offers courses during the day as well as the evening on our campus in Branchburg, New Jersey. The HSSE Department is looking specifically for someone to teach an in-person course twice a week for the Spring 2027 semester (Jan 20th-May 5th) at the Branchburg, NJ campus. There is also an online class available as well, but we will be prioritizing someone who can teach in-person classes.

• Teach all courses assigned, submit course documents, including syllabi and final grades, as required.
• Provide feedback to students and record grades in a timely manner using the Learning Management System and its gradebook.
• Submit attendance verification and progress reports, as directed.
• Comply with all college policies and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in discipline or related field from an accredited institution.

Experience using technology and Learning Management Systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing tools, and Canvas.

Preferred Qualifications:

2-years of college teaching experience in discipline.
