Sensor Fusion & Navigation Engineer

Responsibilities- Work independently on broad assignments while reporting to engineering and program leadership.
- Design, implement, simulate, test, and validate core navigation algorithms for aided inertial navigation.
- Lead requirements determination and trade studies for navigation products.
- Develop state‑of‑the‑art estimation and sensor fusion algorithms for navigation and localization use cases.
- Maintain analysis capabilities including Monte‑Carlo simulations and covariance analyses.
- Expand model‑based design and systems engineering workflows using the MATLAB/Simulink toolchain.
- Generate code for embedded platforms such as Xilinx Zynq MPSoC, ARM cores, and FPGA.
- Conduct software, processor, and hardware in‑loop exercises and system architecture verification.
- Investigate full system performance via simulations, desktop analyses, and vehicle/platform tests.
- Travel approximately 10% for customer reviews and meetings.
- Navigation & Localization:
Kalman & Bayesian filters, factor graph optimizations, machine learning, and AI techniques. - Model Based Workflows:
Auto code generation and targeting of embedded platforms. - Sensors: GPS/GLONASS signal processing, inertial sensors (ring laser, fiber optic, MEMS), and chip‑scale atomic clocks.
- Toolchain: MATLAB, Simulink, State‑flow, blocks, model simulation, and verification.
- Programming: C/C++, object‑oriented methods, UML, and Python.
- Industry Trends:
Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) and pntOS.
- Background in Aerospace GNC, robotics, autonomous vehicles, GNSS, inertial sensors, aerospace, mechanics, electrical engineering, computer science, or applied mathematics.
- Experience:
PhD/Master’s with 5 years of experience, or Bachelor’s with 8 years of experience in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering. - Must be a US Citizen.
- Salary range for New Jersey: $120,000 – $170,000 annually.
