My client is looking for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team at the Budd Lake, NJ facility. Due to this being a hands‑on position, you must work onsite 4‑10 hour days but will be off every Friday.
Job DescriptionThey are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design efforts from concept through completion. This role requires a deep understanding of customer requirements and the ability to translate them into robust electrical solutions. The ideal candidate will bring leadership and technical expertise in mixed‑signal circuit design, development, and worst‑case analysis across analog and digital domains.
Key Responsibilities- Lead electrical design efforts from concept through production, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and system integration.
- Perform detailed analysis and simulations of analog and digital circuits to ensure performance and reliability.
- Define electrical subsystem architecture based on the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Support project planning by estimating resources, timelines, and costs.
- Prepare and review technical proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate electrical designs into larger systems.
- Solve complex design challenges using innovative, non‑standard approaches.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design and production issues.
- Update and modify existing analog and digital designs to address electronic part obsolescence issues.
- Develop and present materials for Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and design reviews.
- Estimate manpower requirements and manage engineering schedules to meet project milestones.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and electrical engineering best practices.
- Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including design, analysis, and troubleshooting of complex circuits, schematics, and embedded systems.
- BS in Electrical Engineering required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Proficiency in analog/digital design tools such as OrCAD, Altium, or equivalent.
- Experience with FPGA/ASIC design and microcontroller‑based architecture.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity, power distribution, EMI/EMC, and thermal management.
- Extensive experience in programming, testing, and debugging electronic components and assemblies.
- Demonstrated critical‑thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in space, aerospace, or military applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience in the design, development, production, and testing of sensor systems, inertial navigation systems, spacecraft, and space mission hardware.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in electrical design.
- Hands‑on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
- Proficiency in simulation and design tools such as SPICE, Simulink, or MATLAB.
- Strong team collaboration skills and openness to feedback from peers and leadership.
