Overview
Plant Engineering in at Celltrion Branchburg, LLC is responsible for maintaining the site’s facility infrastructure including HVAC, GMP utilities, steam, water, sewer, electric and other utility systems to a state of compliance. Each Plant Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining reliable operation of their system and ensuring all equipment is in a qualified state to support the business processes. Additionally, each engineer ensures that their equipment is in-control, compliant, and capable of meeting customer needs, while also driving associated continuous improvement initiatives.
This position is responsible to act as a front-line plant engineer who will support one of the following areas and other systems as required to support the Branchburg campus:
- Clean Utilities:
Purified water, water for injection, clean steam, clean dry air and process gases. - Plant Utilities:
Air handling units, waste treatment, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, heat exchangers, domestic/tempered water skids, water heaters. - Electrical:
Switchgears, load bank/lug box, power
Xpert, generators, transformers, UPS, power distribution and lighting system, arc-flash, short circuit. - Warehouse Systems:
Cold Rooms, Chambers, Ambient storage rooms, Loading Docks, Overhead doors and related equipment.
This position will be part of Process Team and work with cross function team members to provide oversight and troubleshoot issues for reliable operation of their responsible plant system. Providing technical supporting on day-to-day activities, analyze data and create reports, driving appropriate change controls/deviations, preparing/adhering project schedules, as applicable. As applicable, other duties will include interacting with various team members on other Teams, including Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Validation, Quality Assurance, and other Celltrion Branchburg, LLC Sites.
Managefor Results / Strategic Planning
- Daily review, monitoring and trending of the performance of utility area. Respond to process performance metrics and provide root cause analysis and action plans as necessary.
- Have a deep knowledge of engineering first principles, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), statistical tools and champion the use of these tools within the engineering process teams, sites and contractors.
- Provide technical and troubleshooting support to the Facilities, Manufacturing and Laboratory Departments as required.
- Understanding of the equipment and unit operation design characteristics, age, controls and capabilities for all supported processes.
- Knowledgeable of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Critical Process Parameters (CPPs), Critical Operating Parameters (COPs), throughput/capacity to guide decision making.
- Participate as a member of the associated process teams. Effectively communicate with key customers and support groups regarding equipment reliability, maintenance activities, and improvement efforts.
- Assess/identify opportunities to improve the equipment reliability, recommend solutions, and manage implementation. These opportunities will be a combination of, but not limited to, equipment installation, equipment set-up instructions, operation/utilization of the equipment, maintenance procedures, maintenance servicing issues, etc.
- Author/support change controls, deviation investigations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), drawings, schematics, work orders, etc.
- Develop, implement, and maintain equipment maintenance strategies to optimize its safe operation, compliance (HSE & GMP), cost, and efficiency/effectiveness of assets.
- Understand the basis for equipment qualification and ensuring it is appropriate for the intended purpose.
- Consistently demonstrate good technical and business justification documentation for projects including project plans, HSE reviews, design documents, business cases, etc. for driving technical agendas.
- SAFETY:
Ensures overall job environmental, health and safety aspects and understands the risks and liabilities associated with various activities. Takes actions, including initiating Facilities and Engineering projects to address or prevent unsafe conditions for self and site personnel.
- Will interact with system end user, HSE, QA, QC, Process Control Engineering, Validation, design consultants and construction contractors.
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (typically, Chemical, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical).
- Experience working in a GMP environment preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess a passion for understanding, curious, and solution driven.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Be self-motivated, confident, able to influence and self-directed personality with able to work independently as well as in team environment.
This role is exempt and the anticipated compensation for this role is $72,000 - $116,000.
