About The Opportunity

GPAC is proud to be partnered with a leading steel fabrication and erection company known for its work across commercial, industrial, and residential markets. Our client is seeking a highly skilled Steel Detailer with a strong background in both structural steel and miscellaneous metals to join their growing drafting and design team.

Direct‑Hire Opportunity

This is a direct‑hire opportunity offering long‑term stability, engaging projects, and a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals (stairs, railings, catwalks, etc.) using industry‑standard software.
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings and translate them into accurate shop and field drawings.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawing accuracy and clarity.
  • Review and modify drawings based on design changes, RFIs, and markups.
  • Ensure drawings are completed in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Maintain organized project files and collaborate on schedules to meet production deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the detailing process.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Steel Detailer.
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following software tools:
    Tekla, SDS/2, Advanced Steel, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of both structural steel and miscellaneous metals detailing.
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, and/or residential projects.
  • Comfortable using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
