- In the role of Senior Structural Engineer, review structural documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
- Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and their sizes, and complete necessary calculations.
- Independently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of a project.
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
- Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to complete documents on schedule.
- Coordinate and assist with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, change proposal requests, and change orders, incorporating agreed-upon changes into project documents.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Lead a structural team to complete the design of a project from schematic through bid phase services.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- NY or NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Structural Engineering (SE) Certification.
- 15+ years of experience.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- Experience with water-bearing structures is preferred.

Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience as it relates to building design.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software.
- Experience in design calculations and layouts.
- Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood.
- Understanding of gravity and lateral analysis.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- Active participation in an employee-owned culture is a must.
