Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Sensors, Effectors, and Mission Systems (SEMS) business team. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to work independently with minimal oversight, accomplish assigned tasks efficiently, have a strong "hands on" mechanical aptitude, and have strong engineering judgment with sound technical acumen. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and performing various aspects of design life cycles and production support, including but not limited to:
- Conceptual and detailed part/assembly design
- Trade studies
- Engineering drawings / technical data package creation
- Developmental / prototype builds
- Engineering support during fabrication and build of production hardware
- Creation and delivery of presentations to internal and external customers
- Investigating discrepant hardware, components, or assemblies during assembly and integration activities

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering or related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 Years engineering experience
- Experience in CAD modeling software Creo Parametric (detailed part and assembly design)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Active SECRET clearance
- Experience with Electro-Mechanical Design & packaging (design, thermal management, electrical requirements, PWBs, CCAs, and electrical engineering knowledge)
- Working knowledge of EPDM
- Understanding of product lifecycle (problem reports, change notices, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines

Ability to Work RemotelyPart‑time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits.
National Pay StatementThe base range for this position in New Jersey is $91,000 – $172,488. Benefits offered:
