As a member of a cross‑functional team, you lead R&D activities required to complete process design and process deployment for innovation, growth, and cost‑optimization projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience.

Working independently, you will lead technical work across multiple projects aligned with R&D, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will also lead activities designed to generate appropriate process information using modeling and simulation, and pilot‑plant scale‑up and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. You will be involved with/lead process design and specifications, process scale‑up and commissioning and will ensure the effective use of resources, including external agencies.

This position requires you to manage stakeholders and to influence decisions based on data analysis and interpretation of results; create and maintain accurate consumer‑centric process specifications; leverage connections to internal and external technical communities, and create intellectual property that gives Mondelēz International a competitive advantage.

• Plan and conduct process development activities including process design and specifications, heat and mass balance, process scale‑up, commissioning, technical risk assessments, and create and maintain accurate consumer‑centric process specifications.
• Write technical reports, make recommendations, and influence decisions based on analysis and interpretation of data.
• Work in teams and independently with appropriate guidance.
• Prioritize and manage activities.
• Identify problems proactively and implement solutions.

Bachelor’s in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

Minimum 3–5 years in process engineering, preferably in cakes and pastries such as soft cakes, cupcakes, brownies, muffins, and croissants.

Up to 50% travel required in the first 12 months and then 25% ongoing. Domestic and international travel.

This position is based in East Hanover, NJ, with a hybrid work model offering a mix of onsite and remote flexibility.

The base salary range for this position is $86,900 to $119,515; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for over achievement based on performance and company results.
