Senior‑level Electrical Engineer with experience planning, organizing, and developing engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of chemical, refining, midstream oil and gas, energy plants, and facilities. This position will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close‑out. This position will also lead our electrical team within the Swedesboro office.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead projects from start to finish.
- Plan personal daily tasks and the work of other team members.
- Manage budget and schedule for the project’s resources and deliverables.
- Participate in or lead squad check drawing package reviews.
- Read, interpret, and check vendor E&I drawings and vendor catalogs.
- Lead a team of electrical/I&C engineers and designers.
- Travel independently to conduct site surveys and document electrical, instrumentation, and controls at existing client sites and facilities (less than 10% of time).
- 15–20 years of engineering design experience supporting oil and gas and heavy industrial projects.
- Four‑year engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Registered Professional Engineer (by exam) or capable of obtaining PE within 12 months.
- Extensive working knowledge and understanding of the latest version of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), especially in hazardous locations.
- Working knowledge of relevant standards: UL, API, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA.
- Proficiency in interfacing with 5 kV and below power electrical equipment (MCC & motor controls, transformers, ASDs, etc.), including calculations for conduit fill, voltage drop, and sizing of transformers, conductors, panel boards, and breakers. Knowledge up to 35 kV distribution systems is a plus.
- Understanding of power system studies using Easy Power, SKM, or ETAP.
- Experience with wiring diagrams, electrical interconnects, panel layouts, junction box design, PLC cabinet design, plot plans, loop diagrams, I/O lists, P&IDs, cable/conduit schedules, panel board schedules, and electrical and instrument installation details.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision on scope development and technical details.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel, including creating documents from scratch.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including working one‑on‑one with clients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent mentoring skills to train less experienced designers and engineers.
