Senior Structural Engineer (JMR)
(B.S. Civil/Structural Eng) Chester, NJ (Onsite) $100-125K
OverviewGrowing company needs a Senior Structural Engineer to prepare and modify structural drawings, conduct engineering calculations, develop engineering plans, designs and layouts, create structural project specifications, and produce preliminary structural engineering design for project proposals. The role utilizes structural engineering standards (AISC, IBC, RMI, ASTM, ASCE), designs and details schematic and sales drawings, reviews shop drawings, directs designers and drafters, attends client meetings, performs field measurements, and uses RISA, SCIA finite element analysis software.
Responsibilities- Prepare and modify structural drawings
- Conduct engineering calculations
- Develop engineering plans, designs, and layouts
- Create structural project specifications
- Produce preliminary structural engineering designs for proposals
- Apply AISC, IBC, RMI, ASTM, ASCE standards
- Design and detail schematic and sales drawings
- Review shop drawings
- Direct designers and drafters on projects
- Attend client meetings
- Perform field measurement activities
- Use RISA, SCIA finite element analysis software
- 5+ years of experience in structural design
- Proficient knowledge of finite element software
- PE license preferred
