Senior Scientist II – Gum portfolio
Responsibilities- Work independently to plan, lead and coordinate technical projects in line with R&D, marketing and manufacturing requirements.
- Plan, lead and coordinate development activities at the lab/benchtop level to better understand the Gum Base and Encapsulation product technology (e.g. formulation development, product shelf‑life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation).
- Effectively communicate status, risks and plan pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with GMP and HACCP requirements.
- Use digital simulation models to obtain, understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information to provide direction for product development locally and globally.
- Create and maintain accurate consumer‑led specifications, manage stakeholder relationships and influence decisions based on analysis and interpretation of results.

- A strong understanding of the functional characteristics of polymeric materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and process unit operations.
- Drive excellence in project management, plan and execute work plans, develop timelines, risk assessments and contingency plans.
- Analyze results of experiments and translate them into actionable recommendations with minimal guidance.
- Strong knowledge of the commercialization process.
- Identify and efficiently utilize necessary resources to achieve timely delivery of project objectives.
BS / MS in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
Experience RequirementsMinimum of 5–8 years of experience, preferably in the chemical, polymer or food industry.
Strong technical foundation and a high level of technical curiosity.
Ability to develop and drive technical projects with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage complexity from bench top to execution.
Participate in cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
Travel RequirementsTravel up to 30%, to global locations (US, LATAM, Europe, Asia).
Work ScheduleThis is a full‑time role and could be based in East Hanover, NJ or in Mexico City with in‑office expectations of 2–3 days per week.
Salary & BenefitsBase salary range: $97,300 to $133,815.
Eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for over achievement based on performance.
