Description
The Mechanical Engineer provides engineering analysis and support to certify mechanical and electrical equipment for seismic and wind events to meet building code requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities- Carry out, document and communicate status of the project plan
- Review and analyze customer supplied drawings for product seismic and or wind certification. Follow the master project schedule and established methodology to meet established schedule, details, timeline and parameters.
- Perform analysis and report on sheet metal and/or structural steel components of non-structural equipment to determine the equipment’s ability to withstand the specified seismic or wind loads.
- Write formal reports documenting the findings and analysis of the equipment undergoing certification.
- Prepare project status reports.
- Design and analyze test fixtures.
- Coordinate test plans with Field Engineer.
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of shake tests.
- Communicate any scope deviations to management.
- Manage customer expectations.
- Proactively engage the customer, communicate project status relative to the project plan and schedule.
- Create clear and concise documents as required by the project plan and general engineering principles.
- Comprehensive documentation to be understandable, technically correct and presentable.
- Create certification document for presentation to executive management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel functions, formulas, and data manipulation.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from manufacturing and structural drawings.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles with the ability to apply sound technical judgment in daily work.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Highly autonomous, able to manage tasks and priorities with minimal supervision.
- Confident communicator, effective in both technical and cross-functional environments.
- Strong follow-through with a proven ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive problem solver who identifies issues and drives solutions forward.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering calculations and/or finite element modeling.
- Experience with FEM (Finite Element Method) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) preferred.
- MATLAB experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with IBC (International Building Code) standards is a plus.

Salary: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 yearly
