Responsibilitiesand Qualifications
Functions:
- Technical direction and development of geotechnical studies for linear works (roads, railways, platforms, tunnels, associated structures, and earthworks).
- Advanced geotechnical analysis and support to the design of:
- Excavations and slopes.
- Embankments, excavations, and slope stability.
- Foundations of structures (shallow and deep).
- Ground improvement solutions (jet grouting, columns, preloading, rigid inclusions, etc.).
- Interpretation and validation of geotechnical campaigns and field and laboratory tests.
- Geotechnical modeling using specialized software (e.g., PLAXIS 2D/3D or others).
- Technical review of projects, geotechnical reports, and memos, ensuring quality, coherence, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordination with structures, alignment, hydraulic, and construction teams.
- Technical support during the construction phase: technical assistance, review of construction methods, and resolution of geotechnical incidents.
- Preparation of technical criteria, scope notes, cost estimates, and support for technical bids.
- Technical relationship with clients, administrations, and other project stakeholders.
- The selected person will participate in the development, review, and technical supervision of geotechnical studies and engineering solutions associated with major infrastructures, acting as a technical reference and supporting design decision-making in all project phases.
Requirements:
- Degree:
Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering. - Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering applied to linear works. Proven experience in infrastructure projects for ADIF and/or Ministry of Public Works in the study, design, and construction phases. - Technical knowledge:
- Advanced soil and rock mechanics.
- Foundations, slope stability, and retaining structures.
- Ground improvement and special techniques.
- Spanish and/or applicable international geotechnical regulations.
- Tools:
Experience with slope stability software for soils and rocks. Experience with PLAXIS will be valued. Proficiency in office tools (advanced Excel for calculations and reports). - Languages:
Spanish (bilingual or native), English (intermediate to advanced). - Licensed:
Yes.
