As a Survey Technician, you'll work closely with licensed Professional Land Surveyors, field crews, engineers, and project managers to prepare a variety of survey deliverables. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while continuing to develop your technical expertise in surveying and mapping.
What You'll Do- Prepare survey drawings and mapping deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Process and draft field survey data collected using GPS, robotic total stations, and other surveying equipment.
- Prepare boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, existing conditions plans, subdivision plats, and easement exhibits.
- Perform deed research, deed plotting, filed map research, and boundary calculations.
- Review field data for completeness and accuracy prior to drafting.
- Prepare point files and stakeout information for field crews.
- Maintain CAD files in accordance with company drafting standards and quality control procedures.
- Coordinate with survey field crews, project managers, engineers, and clients to support project completion.
- Assist with revisions, calculations, and preparation of final survey documents.
- Manage multiple assignments while meeting project schedules and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Survey Technician or in a similar surveying role.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Experience processing survey field data and preparing survey mapping deliverables.
- Working knowledge of deed plotting, filed maps, boundary research, and survey drafting standards.
- Familiarity with New Jersey survey mapping practices and land records is preferred.
- Strong understanding of survey title blocks, drafting conventions, and quality control procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
