French & Parrello Associates is seeking a talented, energetic and self-motivated Project Manager with background and experience in Wastewater Engineering to join our team. The individual will report to our Wall Township, NJ Headquarters.
We offer the opportunity to work on a vast array of infrastructure projects from facilities planning, to design, permitting and regulatory compliance, support with funding assistance, bid phase services, through provision of engineering services during construction. Projects may be for municipalities, local and regional utility authorities, water and sewer utilities, or private utility clients.
The range of services on the water side may include master planning studies, rate studies, hydraulic modeling, water supply including hydrogeological studies, transmission, storage, distribution, and treatment and may include lead service line evaluation and replacement programs as well as treatment innovations to deal with emerging contaminants such as PFAS.
On the wastewater side the range of service may include regional watershed and wastewater management planning, collection and conveyance systems inclusive of pump stations and force mains, odor and corrosion control, as well as treatment facilities and outfalls.
The candidate must have 10+ years of Water and/or Wastewater Engineering experience and will report directly to the Director of Infrastructure.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Support the Director, Client Account Leaders and other PMs in engaging with public and/or private clients, developing business, managing staff, and managing and delivering challenging projects, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Must possess the verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate and engage with peers and clients, manage project teams, and advance discussions with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and implementing engineering solutions to assist clients with maintaining, improving or constructing their water and/or wastewater infrastructure.
- Familiar with regulations and permitting requirements necessary to progress projects through local, state (NJDEP) and federal (EPA) agencies. For example: NJDEP Water Allocation, Safe Drinking Water, Treatment Works Approvals, Discharge Permits, etc.
- Familiar with local, state and federal funding programs available for water and wastewater infrastructure improvements, upgrades, rehabilitation or replacement including New Jersey Infrastructure Bank (I-Bank) NJEIT Programs, United States Dept. of Agriculture Rural Development, etc.
- Familiarity and experience with MS Office 365, computer aided design tools and software including Autodesk’s AutoCAD and Revit (BIM) and Esri’s ArcGIS. Experience with Bentley’s hydraulics and hydrology software Open Flows WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS/CAD, and/or revalize’s Pipe-Flo is a plus.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on projects of small, medium and large-scale and moderate complexity.
- Correspond with clients on project activities, assist with providing quality client services, and support business development opportunities.
- Prepare technical design studies and reports and construction contract bid documents related to municipal, utility authority, or private water and sewer systems.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and work progress and prepare financial status reports.
- Mentor entry and mid-level staff and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
- Ability to estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project budgets and feasibility.
- Analyze data, aerial photography and maps, topographic or geologic survey information, and utility systems, and prepare reports, drawings, specifications, that are necessary to publicly bid or privately solicit proposals to construct infrastructure improvements.
