Water Resources Design Engineer

Salary: $100,000 – $125,000 DOE Industry: Water & Wastewater Treatment Design

Location:

Somerset County, NJ (Fully Onsite with Potential Hybrid Schedule After 4 Months)

Must-Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering required
  • 5+ years of Water Resources Engineering experience
  • Prior experience with municipal water and wastewater treatment projects
  • Experience supporting water/wastewater treatment and conveyance system design
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, and Microsoft Project
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and contribute independently to design efforts
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
  • PE License is a plus but not required
  • Master's degree is a plus
Overview

We are seeking a Water Resources Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of treatment and conveyance projects while collaborating closely with experienced engineering professionals in a highly supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical design experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to contribute independently to project execution while supporting long-term infrastructure improvements for municipal clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
  • Perform hydraulic and process evaluations for municipal infrastructure systems
  • Prepare engineering reports, technical findings, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents
  • Assist with construction administration and project documentation
  • Monitor project schedules, progress, and deliverables
  • Provide technical support during project bidding and procurement phases
  • Participate in client meetings, field visits, and site evaluations
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and schedule expectations
