Position: DISTINGUISHED ENGINEER - CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Location: Mount Laurel

Duties
  • You will determine areas to develop in science and technology and guide the future direction of basic and applied research and development in the areas of hull, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • You will oversee and influence the execution of hull, mechanical and electrical technology efforts.
  • You will oversee the Division Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics portfolio, and foster a collegial environment for scientific discovery to achieve Divisional and Navy objectives and ensures local pipeline health.
  • You will be responsible for driving cutting-edge research initiatives, designing and testing new concepts, and translating complex technical challenges into practical, mission-ready solutions.
  • You will provide tactical and strategic planning for the Division.

  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .

TQ 1:
As a recognized authority in Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) technologies possess the ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals and organizations such as SYSCOM, Portfolio Acquisition Executives (PAEs), ONR, and Fleet, as well as industry and academia. Including the ability to execute technological change across the Navy.

TQ 2:
Ability to lead teams of engineers and scientists in furthering sciences and technologies (S&T) associated with Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems and components. Includes the ability to execute technology transfer and transition.
