Class: Full-Time ( 6 Days per week/6 Shifts), Seasonal
The Music Man Singing Ice Cream Shoppe seeks an energetic, skilled performer with strong dance and leadership skills to serve as the Resident Choreographer/Dance Captain for our Summer 2026 season .
JOB SUMMARY
The Music Man is a high-energy, family-style ice cream Shoppe where our server-performers sing, dance, and improv with audiences. We are now looking for a talented performer and choreographer to entertain,
lead, and refine dance elements in our interactive performances.
This position pays NJ Tipped Wage per/hour with a tip split. A second pay rate is included for Non-Tipped work, at the NJ Minimum Wage per hour for seasonal employees. A thorough understanding of position, compensation, and housing is presented during the interview process.
The Dance Captain will be responsible for:- Performing nightly as a server-entertainer
- Choreographing and maintaining movement-based elements of performances
- Running rehearsals and ensuring dance consistency among cast members
- Providing feedback and guidance to fellow performers to enhance overall performance quality
- Assisting with cast training and show development throughout the season
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong dancer with choreographic movement experience
- Strong Stage presence with the ability to Sing (must submit vocal audition)
- Natural leader who can coach and inspire fellow cast members
- Comfortable with improvisation and audience interaction
- Energetic personality and ability to engage a live audience
- Available for a full-time schedule from May 11 through to Sept 12, 2026
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
- Location: The Music Man – Lavallette, NJ (Jersey Shore)
- Compensation: Paid position
- Housing: Available one block from the beach
- Additional Opportunities: Special event performances in October & December
