Tax Counsel – Siemens

Transform the everyday with us! The Tax Counsel has the opportunity to lead key strategic initiatives focused on value creation through the analysis and execution of beneficial tax strategies. This includes proactive tax planning, transaction due diligence and structuring, and participation in global tax compliance and accounting while working with a best‑in‑class tax team.

Position Type:
Hybrid (Iselin, NJ)

Responsibilities
  • Mergers, Acquisitions, Dispositions, Joint Ventures & Corporate Integration:
    Assist with planning and implementation of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and internal restructuring to ensure tax efficiency; support the tax team in joint ventures; contribute to post‑acquisition integrations; work with the Tax Compliance Team on required statements and elections.
  • Tax Planning:
    Collaborate with the Planning & Reporting team to manage the Company’s overall tax burden; identify opportunities; research and interpret tax laws; stay informed on tax law changes; coordinate with outside advisors; oversee special projects (competent authority proceedings, tax controversy, valuations, transfer pricing, employee compensation).
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in increasing tax roles in industry, law firm, or public accounting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Juris Doctor.
  • Strong technical tax and analytical skills.
  • Unrestricted employment authorization in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in international tax, partnership tax, financial services matters, leasing, or employee compensation and benefits.
  • Proficiency modeling tax consequences in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with AI and tax technology.
  • Knowledge of tax accounting concepts.
  • Understanding of US corporate income tax returns and schedules.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence across the organization.
  • LLM in Taxation preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field preferred.
