Job DescriptionThe Manager of Content Programming is a key member of the Controllership Group within the TV Networks Group at Versant Media. Reporting to the Senior Director, Programming Accounting, the role collaborates closely with the Senior Manager of Programming Accounting and finance leadership across the group to own and oversee key operational controllership processes related to programming accounting for Sports, News, and Entertainment properties.
- Work closely with TV Networks operational finance and legal to ensure clear understanding of contractual requirements and relevant production and monetization activities to determine timing of programming entries in connection with monthly close.
- Review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring all necessary adjustments and true‑ups are reflected in the ledger accurately, timely, and with a clear audit trail and documentation.
- Oversee that all transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed and supported in accordance with company policies, GAAP, and SOX requirements.
- Perform financial statement reviews for relevant accounts (e.g., Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flows) to explain fluctuations and prepare schedules that support external disclosure.
- Ensure operational and design effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting is maintained and support SOX compliance.
- Participate in meetings and discussions with internal and external auditors for content in TV Networks.
- Mentor and develop staff using a collaborative approach: assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and monitor and evaluate results.
- Collaborate with the controllership team and IT on process improvement opportunities and reporting system enhancements.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance equivalent and 4+ years of relevant accountant/finance experience.
- CPA required.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices, financial accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Experience managing staff and coaching.
- Experience working with auditors.
- Previous media industry experience a plus.

Hybrid:
This position is designated as hybrid, generally requiring attendance in the office a minimum of three days per week. This position is eligible for company‑sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and various other discounts and perks.
Salary range: $90,000 – $125,000 (bonus eligible).
