Job Summary
The Residential Loan Officer will work with individual clients to evaluate loan applications, explain available lending options, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This role requires a mix of analytical skills, financial knowledge, and customer service expertise to ensure clients receive the best loan products suited to their financial situation.
Responsibilities- Meets with and interviews potential and current clients to understand their lending needs including, but not limited to, first‑time mortgages, refinance of existing loans, and home equity loans
- Explain loan types, terms, and conditions to clients and answer questions throughout the process
- Assists clients with completion of mortgage applications, inspecting completed documents for accuracy and thoroughness
- Review loan applications, gather credit histories and reports, and assess applicant’s capacity to repay and default risk
- Based on predetermined requirements, makes approval or denial recommendations to VP/Chief Lending Officer
- Views or visits property for real estate purchase or refinance
- Develops and maintains contacts with local realtors, developers, and builders to promote and encourage the use of bank services for residential mortgages
- Stay updated on banking policies, lending regulations, and industry trends
- Promote additional financial products and services where suitable and assist customers as needed with personal, auto, and other lending products
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of construction and conventional loans
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficient with Laser Pro
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Three years of prior experience in lending or related field preferred
- Three years Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac experience preferred
- Required knowledge of loan compliance regulations
- Required knowledge of loan underwriting functions
- Competitive salary range: $65,000-$95,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Office setting, primarily in Richwood, New Jersey, with occasional travel for building relationships with local realtors, developers, and builders in the Gloucester, Cumberland, and Salem County areas. Attend client mortgage closings and organization meetings as needed.
