Overview
Finance Business Partner – Nutritionals at Bayer.
The Category Finance Business Partner (BP) for the Nutritional brand provides end-to-end finance leadership to the US Brand Director and the multi-functional organization for these brands in the US. The incumbent partners with the Brand Director to translate strategy into operational planning, and provides decision support including contingency planning, financial reporting, and NPD financial analysis.
The role is a key member of the Nutritionals Steering Leadership team, shaping ways of working, establishing decision rights, and coaching the cross‑functional team.
Responsibilities- Full financial management of the P&L for the brands, enabling financial steering and resource allocation in line with strategic objectives.
- Translate strategy into operational plans and provide decision support, including contingency planning, financial reporting, and NPD financial analysis.
- Propose corrective actions when there are deviations from targets.
- Ensure business decisions create sufficient value for sales and profit delivery.
- Lead forecast development and ambition setting for upcoming years.
- Analyze brand performance, provide financial updates, and proactively address risks and opportunities.
- Conduct deep analysis of the NPD portfolio, including value drivers and sensitivity analysis, and recommend go/no‑go decisions at innovation gates.
- Approve invoices, reconcile actuals, and ensure accuracy in partnership with US Central Controlling.
- Partner with Commercial Strategy and Sales Finance to develop annual trade rates and incremental investments that support retailer strategies and market winning plans.
- Identify growth opportunities across SKUs and retailers based on differentiation, profit margin, distribution, and share.
- Lead financial assessment to improve retailer margin, gross margin, and consumer value.
- Present business state, financial interventions, and project updates to leadership.
- Drive process optimization, automation, digital transformation, and predictive analytics for efficiency and insight.
- Share best practices within the finance BP community and support broader finance initiatives.
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business.
- Expertise in forecasting, target setting, management reporting, and international accounting standards.
- Strong commercial sense, preferably in Life Sciences or FMCG.
- Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and conceptual skills.
- Strategic mindset, courage, collaboration, and cross‑functional networking abilities.
- Preferred:
- 12+ years of experience in global business finance.
