Chief Financial Officer - Spotswood BoroughIs seeking a part-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with New Jersey CMFO certification and a minimum of three years of local government financial management experience. Population of approx. 8,250 and a budget of (Current Fund/Water & Sewer) $14 million. Candidate should be able to prepare and file all financial statements and maintain a fully-functional General Ledger for all funds. Experience with Municipal Software Accounting and Edmunds Water and Tax System preferred.
The CFO is required to prepare and oversee the budget in conjunction with the Borough Administrator. The CFO conducts comprehensive reviews of financial controls, systems, and processes to develop or refine municipal financial policies and procedures to adhere to NJ State Statutes and NJ Audit requirements and to perform evaluations of the Treasury, Tax and Water Collection, Tax Assessment and Purchasing Departments.
Oversees cash and bank management, debt management and issuance, and all financial disclosure requirements. A start date of 1 Aug. 2026 is requested.
