Location: Belmar
Position:
Part-Time Tax Collector
Salary Range: $8,000 – $25,000 per year. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Collection of municipal taxes
- Comply with New Jersey statutes and Borough policy for tax collection
- Perform related duties as required by New Jersey law
- Initial in-person commitment of approximately 3–4 hours per week; remaining duties performed remotely as needed
- Reduce in-person hours over time as the role is established
- Must hold a valid New Jersey Tax Collector Certification or be actively in the process of obtaining certification
- Experience with Edmunds Government Software is required
- Knowledge of New Jersey tax collection laws, procedures, and practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
