Water Treatment Plant Operator – Hightstown Borough.The Borough is seeking a qualified Water Treatment Plant Operator to oversee the daily operation and maintenance of its water treatment facility. Under general supervision, the operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient purification of water for public and industrial use. Duties include but not limited to; monitoring and adjusting water flow, managing chemical treatment processes, maintaining equipment and facilities, collecting and recording water samples for regulatory compliance, and maintaining the water distribution system, including hydrants, meters, and water towers.
This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to operational issues as they arise. High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license required. NJDEP T and/or W license preferred (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe) Prior experience in water treatment operations or related field preferred. Ability to respond to emergencies as needed.
Salary range: $18 - $42 per hour. The Borough is an equal opportunity employer.
