The Township of Clinton, Hunterdon County, seeks a part-time Fire Prevention Inspector, approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Responsibilities include inspection of buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the provisions of the State Uniform Fire Code, investigation of complaints, participation in Fire Prevention Week activities and administration of the Continuing Certificate of Occupancy program. Fire Inspector Certification issued by NJ Division of Fire Safety and a valid New Jersey Driver's License are required.
Successful applicant must have thorough knowledge of the Fire Code and ability to apply the code to real world situations. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills are essential. Compensation range is $25-$35 per hour DOQE. Work schedule is flexible, but availability for daytime hours is necessary.
