This opportunity is for a Revenue Cycle Supervisor in our Rochelle Park, NJ offices.
The Revenue Cycle Supervisor has oversight of the daily operations of the billing department, including the billing, follow-up, denials, and appeals to ensure accuracy and compliance. This position’s primary focus is on reducing errors, improving collections, and enforcing policy and procedures. Key tasks include staff training, reporting key metrics, and performance and auditing, maintain payer portals, provide direction for team and ensure compliance with regulations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise, train and mentor revenue cycle teams, including insurance verification, coding, billing and claim submissions
- Responding to inquiries in a timely manner via various channels (phone or email)
- Monitor and supervise the AR activity to ensure timely reimbursement and high clean claim ratio
- Monitor metrics such as Days in AR and collection rates and reporting to leadership
- Address complex, denied, or appealed claims with insurance providers
- Analyze key metrics like coding errors, billing errors, turn-around times, denial rates and reporting findings to management
- Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations (including Medicare and Medicaid) and develop internal policies for billing accuracy
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) and practice management systems (Modernizing Medicine)
- Other special projects as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent required, associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years' healthcare or medical office experience required
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and strong leadership abilities
- Experience with billing software required Modernizing Medicine experience preferred
- Experience with Podiatry billing a plus
- Knowledge of current medical terminology to communicate with staff and patients
- Time Management & excellent organization are very important for this position
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work & Excel to use daily) e-mail systems, and web-based programs
- Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, organize, troubleshoot and problem solve
- Excellent time management skills and multitasking skills
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
