Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II for the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility located in Clinton, NJ. The Mental Health Clinician II completes specialized psychological testing and assessment of clinical needs of adult inmates sentenced to the Department of Corrections.
Responsibilities- Conduct specialized psychological testing and assessment of the clinical needs of adult inmates.
- Arrive at diagnoses with precision and accuracy by the end of the psychological testing and evaluation session.
- Develop treatment plans.
- Make clinically based decisions regarding appropriateness for treatment and preferred treatment modality.
- Provide group, individual, and family therapies.
- Assess and make referrals for higher levels of care, as appropriate.
- Recognize the unique needs and behaviors of adult inmates, seniors, and their families.
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Clinical‐Counseling Psychology, or Forensic Psychology.
- Trained in psychological testing and measurement.
- Minimum of two (2) years of post‐master’s experience, which may be substituted with a Doctorate in psychology.
- Valid driver’s license and ownership of a vehicle to travel between sites.
- Licensure in the mental health field (e.g., Licensed Associate Counselor [LAC], Licensed Professional Counselor [LPC], Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor [LCADC]) is preferred, but not required.
Minimum Salary: $78,503.00 | Mid Range Salary: $95,005.00 | Maximum Salary: $. Final offer may be determined by candidate’s qualifications, experience, expertise, and availability of department or grant funds.
