Short Description

Responsible for functioning as a GI technician during all endoscopic procedures. Assists physicians in obtaining specimens (biopsies, polypectomies, cultures), and supports therapeutic procedures according to SGNA guidelines. Participates in GI tech call rotation. Prepares, cleans, and maintains endoscopy room and equipment. Assists with patient transfer and positioning. Maintains endoscopes and accessories, ensuring proper cleaning and disinfection per standards. Handles and stores equipment safely, follows manufacturer instructions, and maintains logs.

Ensures patient safety and adherence to safety guidelines and universal precautions. Maintains supplies and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.

Experience Required

Experience preferred.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma required.

License/Certification Requirements

Certification required within one year of hire.
