The CT Technologist performs computerised tomographic procedures in accordance with hospital standards, state, and federal regulations while ensuring timely execution of routine procedures. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and CT‑specific applications, adherence to universal precautions and infection control policies, and maintaining the quality and accuracy of imaging documentation.
Responsibilities- Conduct computerised tomographic procedures within a 45‑minute timeframe for routine imaging.
- Verify image presence and documentation in the PACS.
- Interview patients to gather pertinent information and clinical history, ensuring all necessary forms are completed.
- Provide educational information and instructions to patients and their families regarding procedures.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement through documentation, data collection, and customer satisfaction assessments.
- Assume responsibility for the physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain necessary licensure and certifications.
- Attend staff and departmental meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal radiologic technology program approved by AMA.
- Must meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or certification by the NJ State Board of Examiners.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a radiologic technologist is required.
- Competency in performing CT procedures and knowledge of radiation protection is essential.
