Radiation Therapist
Prepares and administers radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, in accordance with established departmental and ACR (American College of Radiology) procedures and standards.
Utilizes sophisticated imaging equipment and treatment planning systems for precise tumor localization. Works closely with the Radiation Oncologist and the therapy team in the preparation of a treatment plan that is customized to the patient's needs.
Provides clinical support to the Radiation Oncology Department. Ensures the highest quality patient care by complying with established procedures and standards and providing emotional support to patients.
Display professional conduct essential to the well being of the radiation oncology patient and effective operation of the department. Observes the clinical progress of the radiation oncology patient, uses clinical decision making skills to recognize and report any signs of complications to the nurse and radiation oncologist.
Utilizes EMR effectively. Maintains accurate and detailed treatment chart documentation.
Supports organizational goals by providing excellent customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
0-2 Years
Graduate of an approved program in Radiation Therapy
- Radiation Therapy Technologist license by the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection required
- Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required with unrestricted therapy credentials.
- Health Care Provider CPR certification required
