Description

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Resident Service Assistants/Home Health Aides with the goal of helping residents make the most of each day. You will be a friendly and familiar face, providing hands-on care in a respectful and dignified manner. Your role is essential to the care and safety of residents who call The Bristal home. The care you provide supports the residents’ quality of life and well-being each day.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Escort residents to meals and recreational activities
  • Support residents in achieving their highest level of physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being
  • Provide assistance in the Wellness area to ensure safety, comfort, and well-being
  • Follow all policies and procedures and adhere to instructions from the Nurse Shift Supervisor and Director of Wellness
Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide
  • Experience with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plus
  • Must be able to speak and read English
  • Prior experience with geriatric populations and assisting with ADLs preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and establish personal care routines
  • Basic understanding of dementia; patient and professional in redirecting residents
  • Ability to adapt to different personalities and situations in a positive manner
  • Reliable, caring, and gentle in touch and demeanor
  • Maintain respect for the elderly and remain calm at all times
