Christiana Care Springside is recruiting a Full‑Time CT Scan Technologist I. Shift: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (other hours needed, weekends as required).
Responsibilities- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
- Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
- Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and research implanted devices prior to scanning.
- Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses and Joint Commission regulations.
- Completes all technical assigned imaging and non‑imaging procedures within the designated scheduled times.
- Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
- Assists with coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
- Obtains clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
- Verifies insurance pre‑authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
- Maintains patient confidentiality; uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
- Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
- Assesses patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
- MR Technologist experience required.
- ARRT Registered Technologist required.
- ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.
- Cerner training required.
- Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.
- Flexibility in hours required.
- Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
- Ability to work independently.
- Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two‑year accredited program).
- Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire).
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection required.
- Completion of formal and/or on‑the‑job training on cross‑sectional anatomy.
- Associate’s degree is required; candidates must attain an Associate of Science degree (or related field) within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
- Certification in CPR.
- Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
- Successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement; a non‑certified technologist will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.
- Completion of IV training course.
This position pays $37.38 to $51.40 per hour based on experience. This pay range represents Christiana Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
