American Traveler is seeking an EEG Technologist with 2+ years of neurodiagnostic experience to perform routine and long-term monitoring EEGs across adult and pediatric patient populations in a hospital neurodiagnostic lab setting.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of neurodiagnostic/EEG technology experience
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Graduate or certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic Program with completed clinical neurodiagnostic internship required
- BLS certification required (must obtain within 30 days of start)
- ABRET R. EEG T certification preferred
- Experience with MEG procedures preferred
- Previous hospital setting experience preferred
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Active NJ license required if applicable
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- 2 professional references required for consideration
Responsibilities
- Hospital-based neurodiagnostic lab with work across various inpatient environments including ICU and general floor settings
- Patient population spans neonates through adults, including pediatric and adult inpatient populations
- Procedures include routine EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, bedside EEGs, and Long Term Monitoring (LTM) hookups for all inpatient populations
- Epic EMR and NATUS system experience preferred
- 3x12 hour PM shifts per week, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- No on-call required
- May float to a nearby sister hospital
- Perform routine and ambulatory EEGs both in the department and at bedside, as well as Long Term Monitoring hookups for all inpatient populations
- Demonstrate competency in seizure pattern recognition, artifact detection, and the 10-20 international electrode placement system
- Provide technologist impressions of studies and relay pertinent findings to partnering physicians
- Responsible for initial setup and ongoing maintenance of long-term monitoring equipment, including monitoring skin integrity
- Perform clipping, pruning, and data archiving with attention to detail and accuracy
- Collaborate with physicians for interpretation and clinical correlation of study results
- Knowledgeable in emergency communication protocols and patient care during seizure events
- Responsible for proper care, handling, and maintenance of all neurodiagnostic equipment
