Transportation Aide
Position SummaryThe Transportation Aide ensures the safe transportation of all participants during transport to and from the PACE center, all medical appointments, home, and any other destination scheduled by the PACE program. The PACE transportation Aide maintains the cleanliness and maintenance check list of the vehicles at all times. The program transportation aide is responsible to assist the department in support of efficient operations and other departmental objectives.
This position may also deliver medications, supplies, food, laundry, or other items as directed. This position must offer door through door service for every participant and assumes responsibility for all communication to the supervisor or designee while the van is in motion by another staff member.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation.
QualificationsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have the ability to read and write in English.
License/Certification: BLS required. Licenses, Registration, Insurance is required. Bilingual preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year working with the frail and elderly required.
Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Work EnvironmentPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Requires frequent standing, and supporting, assisting, and lifting of patients. Requires the ability to frequently lift greater than fifty pounds.
