Technologist I, Laboratory - Laboratory - Mannington 20K Sign on Bonus

Job Title

Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. Ensure operation of laboratory instrumentation by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Perform, evaluate, and record quality control and institute corrective action as appropriate. Take part in proficiency sample testing, when appropriate. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

Perform any other duties necessary to run an efficient and effective laboratory. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related field OR
• For HEW/HHS
  - High school graduate or equivalent with 50-week military training as Medical Lab Specialist OR Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory or Clinical Laboratory training program.
• 1 to 3 years clinical laboratory experience preferred

Certification:

• ASCP MLT or equivalent, level eligible at date of hire
• Certification must be achieved within 12 months after hire date

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
