The Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) division provides diagnostic and consultative services focused on high-risk obstetrics.
Scheduling Requirements:
- Monday-Friday 7:30AM-5PM.
- The department is open Monday-Friday, closed on weekends and all major (hospital recognized) holidays.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performing Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound Examinations
o Perform Nuchal Translucency (NT) and first-trimester screening ultrasounds in compliance with AIUM (The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) accreditation standards
o Perform Biophysical Profiles (BPP) and Fetal Doppler studies (umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery, ductus venosus, etc.)
o Measure cervical length and assess uterine or placental abnormalities
- Assist the Perinatologist during invasive procedures for ultrasound needle guidance:
o Amniocentesis
o Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
o Fetal Reduction
- Image Analysis and Interpretation Support
o Acquire high-quality, diagnostic images that allow accurate interpretation by the Perinatologist
o Recognize and document abnormal findings for Physician review
o Correlate ultrasound findings with clinical history, laboratory data, and previous imaging
- Documentation and Reporting
o Record findings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and ultrasound reporting system (AS-OBGYN)
o Ensure all measurements, observations, and images meet ACOG, AIUM, or SMFM standards
o Communicate urgent or unexpected findings promptly to the Provider
- Quality Control and Continuing Education
o Maintain equipment calibration, decontamination protocols, and ensure image quality
o Participate in quality assurance programs within MFM and the hospital
o Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and MFM protocols through continuing education
What We Require for this Role:
Education
- Graduate of a CAAHEP approved Ultrasound School required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Related Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine for High Risk Pregnancies preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
- Current RDMS in OB/GYN – Active Status required.
- Current certification with ARMS in OB/GYN required.
- Current certification in Nuchal Translucency and Cervical Length Assessment required.
- Cervical length assessment certification. Must be obtained within a year of employment.

Salary Range:
$45.12 - $65.56/Hourly
