Clinical Care Technician (CCT) - Surg Serv-Ortho/Neuro T6E

At RWJBarnabas Health, Clinical Care Technicians become part of a purpose driven environment where teamwork, belonging, and clinical excellence shape meaningful patient experiences. As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands‑on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans.

Todd 6 East: 21 unit beds, with 9 private rooms that all have continuous telemetry, pulse oximetry, and end tidal carbon monoxide monitoring. Specializes in management of a variety of pre and post surgical procedures including but not limited to orthopedic, neurosurgical, gynecological, and general surgery.

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:
  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
  • Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
  • Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
  • Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
  • Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
  • Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
  • Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 3pm to 1130p.m. and includes every other weekend as well as some holidays.
