What You'll DoAs a Physical Therapist, you'll help patients improve mobility, restore function, manage pain, and regain independence following injury, illness, surgery, or other physical limitations. You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized treatment plans designed to help patients achieve their functional goals.
Responsibilities may include:
Evaluate patients' mobility, strength, balance, range of motion, and functional abilities
Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans
Provide therapeutic exercises, mobility training, manual therapy, and other evidence-based interventions
Help patients improve strength, movement, balance, and functional independence
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, injury prevention, mobility, and home programs
Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Follow facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
Specific responsibilities may vary by employer and practice setting.
QualificationsDegree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Active or pending U.S. state Physical Therapy licensure
Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and interpersonal skills
Passion for helping patients improve mobility, function, and quality of life
