Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech III - IP FT Morristown

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ultrasound exams, following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations.
• Verify patient identity, provide patient education, and ensure safety throughout the procedure.
• Assist in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Complete clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, record all testing information accurately, and report critical results promptly.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, and center personnel in a pleasant and informative manner; recommend related duties, policies, and procedures to the supervisor.
• Enhance teamwork, show motivation and accountability, solve problems in difficult situations, seek guidance when appropriate, and mentor others.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and lab, assist with opening/closing procedures, and ensure equipment cleanliness per infection control policies.
• Identify personal learning needs, attend in‑services and meetings, increase proficiency, and suggest new techniques or processes.

• Includes skills of Sonographer level 1 & 2 & protocol directed / research protocols.
• Consistently takes initiative to develop professionally; positive attitude; increased engagement; shift from internal focus to external team/department/org; demonstrates HRO culture by identifying patient safety issues.
• Consistently seeks opportunities to learn new technology and equipment; expand knowledge and skills.
• ASE member; attends Echo Conference; preceptor; provides educational activity/inservice; presentations; shared governance; assists with IAC and QI initiatives; complete CVT PACT.

• Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Registered Sonographer.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; effective verbal and written skills; basic proficiency with computer systems.
