Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities, medical history, and specific rehabilitation needs, which may involve the use of standardized assessment tools.
- Collaborating with patients and their families to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals, expectations, and preferences.
- Implementing evidence-based treatment protocols and therapies based on evaluation findings and the latest advancements in the healthcare field.
- Regularly monitoring and documenting patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary, and ensuring compliance with evolving healthcare regulations.
- Consulting with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to discuss complex patient cases and coordinate comprehensive care.
- Participating in discharge planning and follow-up care, ensuring smooth transitions and continued support for patients after therapy completion.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of patient interactions and providing timely notes to ensure continuity of care and compliance with billing requirements.
- Actively engaging in marketing efforts within the hospital and local community to promote services and improve access to rehabilitation care.
The patients you will serve include individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and neuromuscular disorders. You will be instrumental in helping these patients regain functionality, improve mobility, and enhance their overall quality of life through targeted rehabilitation strategies.
QualificationsTo be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. A Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
- A current state license to practice physical therapy in New Jersey.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
While prior experience in a rehabilitation setting is not required, candidates with a background in orthopedic therapy will be favored. Experience in a collaborative clinical environment and familiarity with electronic health records will also be beneficial.
Compensation and BenefitsThe compensation range for this position is competitive, with an annual salary between USD 100,000–120,000, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
